Purpose
Brand pillars are the values and characteristics that make up the brand. Brand pillars help doing that by defining the fundamental points that set company apart from competitors. also provide a hook to tell company’s story and differentiate brand self from competition.
Brand philosophy can be defined as a set of values, codes of ethics and principles that define the overall climate and culture of an organization and set the company’s business practices.
Brand philosophy is the set of ideologies and principles that govern the mission statement, vision for the future endeavours, code of ethics, values, and the modus operandi of the way of conducting the work within the company and way of dealing with the customers, stakeholders, and the external parties.
Brand philosophy is not something that is typically placed on a website or in brand collateral, as many other traditional brand element statements cover much of the brand’s philosophy. That said, a well-developed philosophy can be a powerful internal tool that brand representatives can use to get together and get behind. Glossier’s pale pink oasis was so on-brand with their skincare aesthetic.
